Uzbekistan has secured the top position in Central Asia in the “Government Readiness Index for Artificial Intelligence,” as reported by Oxford Insights.
According to the latest index, Uzbekistan ranks 70th globally with a score of 53.45, marking an impressive jump of 17 places from the previous year. This achievement not only places Uzbekistan at the forefront of Central Asia but also highlights its growing influence in the region’s technological landscape.
The index evaluates government preparedness to adopt and implement artificial intelligence technologies, drawing on 40 indicators that assess various aspects of AI development and integration.
Uzbekistan’s progress in the rankings is attributed to the country’s “Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies until 2030,” a comprehensive plan endorsed by the government aimed at fostering innovation and promoting AI-driven solutions. The strategy, coupled with consistent reforms, has positioned Uzbekistan as a leader in AI advancement in the region.
In the broader South and Central Asia region, Uzbekistan ranks third, following India and Turkey, further underscoring the country’s dedication to technological growth and innovation.
