Uzbekistan expressed condolences on the death of Makei

Official Tashkent received the news of the untimely death of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Vladimirovich Makei with deep sadness.  This is stated in the statement of condolences from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

"Vladimir Vladimirovich was a skilled and experienced diplomat, a master of his field, and a true patriot of Belarus.

His sincere desire to develop multifaceted Uzbek-Belarusian relations deserves special attention. Especially in recent years, he made a great contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus.

Vladimir Makei left positive and bright memories.

"We express our condolences and words of encouragement to the colleagues, relatives, and friends of Vladimir Vladimirovich Makei," said the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We remind you that on 26 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, died suddenly.

For information, Vladimir Vladimirovich Makei was born in 1958 in the Grodno region of Belarus.  In 1980, he graduated from the Minsk State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages, and in 1993 from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria.

From 1999-2000, he was the head of the European cooperation department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.  From 2000-2008, he was an assistant to the President of Belarus, and from 2008-2012, he was the head of the Presidential Administration.

Since 22 August 2012, Vladimir Makei had been working as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
