People’s artist of Uzbekistan Yakub Akhmedov passes away

Today, October 30, People’s Artist of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Union of Theater Workers, actor of the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater and cinema, recipient of the Order of Friendship, and dubbing master Yakub Akhmedov passed away at the age of 87. The news was reported by the Union of Theater Workers.
Yakub Akhmedov, theater and film actor, chairman of the Uzbekistan Union of Theater Workers, and People’s Artist of Uzbekistan, was born on January 3, 1938, in Namangan. After graduating from the Ostrovsky Tashkent Institute of Theater and Art, he began his career in 1958 at the Hamza Uzbek State (now Uzbek National) Academic Drama Theater, where he worked as an actor and later as the theater’s director. During his career with the theater, Akhmedov masterfully performed leading roles in more than fifty stage productions.
It is worth noting that earlier, Ismoil Jurabekov, a prominent statesman and public figure who served as State Adviser to the President of Uzbekistan and First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, passed away at the age of 94.
