Uzbekistan sends another 15 trucks of aid to Iran

Uzbekistan has sent a second batch of humanitarian aid to Iran. Two months after the first aid convoy, 15 trucks fully loaded with pharmaceutical products and medical supplies crossed the border, Press TV reported.

The humanitarian cargo, sent as part of the “Solidarity” program, entered Iran through the Dargaz land border checkpoint. The supplies are expected to be handed over to the Iranian Red Crescent Society for further distribution to people in need.

“The second convoy of Uzbekistan’s solidarity campaign with Iran, consisting of 15 trucks carrying medicines and medical supplies, entered the country through the Dargaz land border checkpoint and will be handed over to the Iranian Red Crescent Society,” the report said.

Earlier, the first major humanitarian aid convoy was sent in March this year. It included flour, rice, sugar, pasta, vegetable oil, canned goods and essential first-aid medicines provided by Uzbekistan.
