Criminal case initiated into fire at Uch Kakhramon bazaar

On August 11, a fire broke out at the Uch Kakhramon market in the Tashkent district of the Tashkent region. Thanks to rapid firefighting measures, shops located on an area of 12,000 square meters were saved from the blaze, the regional Main Department of Internal Affairs reported.

The total area of the Uch Kakhramon market is 20,000 square meters. As a result of the fire, 40 percent of the buildings were damaged. No casualties or injuries were reported.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 259 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Violation of fire safety rules) and transferred to the Investigation Department under the Tashkent regional Department of Internal Affairs.

“An investigation is currently underway to determine the causes of the fire. Additional information will be provided following the conclusion of the investigative bodies,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
