An earthquake that occurred in the Republic of Tajikistan was also felt in Uzbekistan, according to the Republican Center for Seismoprognostic Monitoring.
The earthquake struck on January 9 at 02:14. The epicenter was located 477 kilometers southeast of Tashkent. The magnitude was recorded at 5.3, with a depth of 139 kilometers. The epicenter was in the Gorno-Badakhshan region of Tajikistan, at coordinates 38.39° north latitude and 73.37° east longitude.
The intensity of the tremors felt in Uzbekistan was as follows:
– Fergana region: 2–3 points, 260 km from the epicenter;
– Andijan region: 2 points, 285 km;
– Namangan region: 2 points, 325 km.
It is worth noting that earlier, an earthquake that occurred in Kyrgyzstan was also felt in Uzbekistan.
