A 9th-grade student who stabbed a fellow student in Tashkent after an altercation was sentenced to 3 years in prison, as reported by the press service of the Tashkent city court to QALAMPIR.UZ.

Reportedly, on July 4th of this year at 4:00 PM in a school in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, a 16-year-old student engaged in a dispute with a peer, resulting in a fight that was later broken up by bystanders.

Later that evening, the teenagers engaged in another altercation over the phone, leading to a meeting purportedly to resolve their differences in front of the administrative building of the "Independence of Uzbekistan" neighborhood in the 15th district of Yunusabad. Initially, the accused physically assaulted his peer, causing injuries. Subsequently, he used a nearby knife to stab his acquaintance in the lower back. According to expert analysis, the wound was deemed life-threatening.

Consequently, a schoolboy, who is days away from his 16th birthday, was arrested on suspicion of committing a severe offense.

"The Yunusabad District Court on Criminal Cases found the accused guilty of the offense specified in Article 104, Part 2 of the Criminal Code, and sentenced him to 3 years' imprisonment according to Article 85 of the Criminal Code. The sentence is to be served in educational colonies," stated the press service.
