Patrol Post Service inspector caught taking a bribe in Tashkent

An inspector in Tashkent has been detained for demanding a bribe of $1,500 in exchange for a driver’s license, the State Security Service reported.
The inspector, who worked for the Patrol Post Service of the Public Order Department under the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the capital, allegedly abused his official position and gained the trust of another individual. He promised to issue a driver's license to a 1995-born resident of Navoi region if the person successfully passed the state exam.
During an operation in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, the inspector was caught red-handed while receiving $1,500 and 1.9 million soums, intended as payment for the exam.
A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 168 (fraud) and 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code. The inspector has been placed under arrest as a preventive measure.
An investigation is currently underway.
It should be recalled that earlier, a person was detained in the Khorezm region for providing citizens with fake diplomas.
