Man sentenced to 15 days for assaulting a woman in Tashkent

A video circulating on social media shows a man using force against a woman in Tashkent. The capital’s Main Department of Internal Affairs has provided details about the incident.

According to the report, the incident occurred on July 22 at around 1:30 p.m. near a multi-storey building in the Kuylyk-1 dacha area of the Mirabad district. S.A., born in 1993, assaulted his former acquaintance T.K., born in 1999, following a disagreement. In doing so, he deliberately violated public order by disregarding social norms. However, the victim did not contact law enforcement authorities or seek medical assistance.

In connection with the case, the Mirabad District Internal Affairs Bureau prepared an administrative report under Article 183 (petty hooliganism) and Article 194 (failure to comply with the lawful requirements of an internal affairs officer) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. The case was forwarded to the Mirabad District Criminal Court for legal action.

The court sentenced S.A. to 15 days of administrative detention.
