The lifeless body of a 6-year-old boy, who drowned in the “Zakhariq” canal flowing through the “Uchsada” neighborhood of Tashkent district in the Tashkent region, has been discovered. This information was shared with KALAMPIR.UZ by the relatives of the deceased.

According to their account, the child’s body was found today, June 8, at approximately 02:00, approximately 500 meters away from his home. The boy was found entangled in a tree on the canal bank.

The search for the missing child had been ongoing for nearly 5 days. Despite the relentless efforts of the parents and the emergency department, the child’s body had eluded discovery due to the canal’s high water levels. Desperate for assistance, the parents repeatedly appealed to the Ministry of Water Management of the Republic, requesting permission to temporarily halt water supply to the “Zakhariq” canal for a day to aid in the search efforts. Eventually, after numerous pleas, the ministry granted permission to reduce the flow of water in the canal.

It is important to recall that on June 3 of this year, a tragic incident occurred in the “Zakhariq” canal, claiming the life of a 6-year-old boy from the “Uchsada” neighborhood in the Tashkent district of the Tashkent region. In their quest to locate the child, the Ministry of Water Economy was requested to suspend the canal water supply.
