Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives U.S. Trade Representative

Today, June 25, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. The presidential press service reported this.

It was noted that at the beginning of the meeting, the U.S. representative conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from U.S. President Donald Trump to the leader of Uzbekistan.

The sides discussed current issues related to further strengthening Uzbekistan-U.S. strategic partnership relations, primarily in the trade and economic sphere.

They noted with satisfaction the intensification of business ties and the steady growth of mutual trade and investment indicators.

The practical results of a roundtable discussion held with representatives of American business during the recent Tashkent International Investment Forum were also discussed.

Special attention was paid to cooperation within the framework of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization and continued U.S. support for this process.

The importance of effectively using the mechanism of the American-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council to identify and promote new project initiatives was also noted.
