In accordance with a decision of the Supreme Judicial Council, two judges in Samarkand Region have been dismissed from their positions for violating the law. The Council’s press service reported this.
Under the decision, Nodirjon Rajabov, Chairman of the Samarkand District Criminal Court of Samarkand Region, was dismissed for breaching the principle of legality in the administration of justice. In addition, Sanjar Soliev, Chairman of the Samarkand Interdistrict Administrative Court, was relieved of his duties based on his written application for violating the requirements of the Code of Judicial Ethics. In both cases, their judicial powers were terminated ahead of schedule.
It is worth noting that earlier in Tashkent, a previously convicted lawyer was reported to have demanded a bribe in exchange for arranging a detention measure through personal connections.
