Head of travel company detained in Samarkand for attempting to send citizens to US via Mexico

A person attempting to illegally send citizens to the United States via Mexico was detained in the Samarkand region. The State Security Service reported this.
It was revealed that the head of a travel company operating in the city of Samarkand, after gaining the trust of three citizens residing in Samarkand city and the Urgut district, demanded $32,000 from each, a total of $96,000, in exchange for sending them to the United States via Mexico, after issuing the necessary documents.
During an operational event, the head of the company was detained while receiving an advance payment of $15,000.
A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect under Article 25, part 4, clause “a” of Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
It is worth noting that earlier, in the Sharof Rashidov district of the Jizzakh region, a citizen demanded 200 million soums to illegally send another person to the United States through Mexico.
