After his arrest, a video message from the newly appointed bazaar chairman in the Pakhtachi district of Samarkand region, created by his mother in protest, went viral on social networks. The regional prosecutor's office responded to the situation.
Investigations revealed that the market chairman, G.A., and V.N., failed to pay over 113 million soums in employee salaries. They also disbursed 13,781,000 soums to eight employees not listed in the staff, inflating monthly salaries by 24,594,000 soums compared to the approved staff table, embezzling these funds.
Furthermore, the investigation uncovered the misappropriation of 68,250,000 soums worth of products provided by the regional association of markets and trade complexes. G.A., the head of "Cotton farmer's market" LLC, and V.N., the chief accountant, are facing criminal charges under Article 167 of the Criminal Code. The court, as a preventive measure, decided to detain both suspects.
The Pakhtachi district prosecutor's office conducted preliminary investigations, and the criminal case was forwarded to the Pakhtachi district court for handling. The trial for the criminal case is currently ongoing.
