In the city of Shchyolkovo, Moscow Region, a citizen of Uzbekistan fatally beat a 49-year-old deaf-mute man. The incident was reported by RBC.

The incident occurred on July 20. According to investigators, the victim was walking past a row of garbage containers where two Uzbek workers from a local management company were searching through waste. The deaf-mute man used gestures to express his displeasure—reportedly objecting to their actions. However, the migrants allegedly interpreted his gestures as aggressive.

One of the workers, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, struck the man twice in the abdomen and once in the head. The victim did not resist and collapsed. He was then brutally beaten while lying on the ground. After the assault, the attackers attempted to hide the crime by dragging the man’s body into nearby bushes and fleeing the scene.

Investigators noted that the victim’s phone and other personal belongings remained untouched, indicating that the motive was not robbery.

The suspect was identified with the help of surveillance footage, which allowed authorities to reconstruct the sequence of events.

It was later revealed that the accused—a 26-year-old Uzbek national—was residing in Russia illegally. He has been arrested and charged with “intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in death by negligence.”

The investigation is also working to determine who facilitated the suspect’s illegal stay and employment in the management company. The case remains under investigation.

It should be noted that a 29-year-old Uzbek citizen, whose Russian residence permit was previously revoked, was recently deported.
