On February 8, six children who had been left without parental care in various regions of the Russian Federation were returned to Uzbekistan, the Children’s Ombudsman reported.

According to the statement, the Commissioner for Children’s Rights requested urgent practical assistance from the Children’s Ombudsman of the Russian Federation to temporarily place the unattended minors in childcare institutions in the regions where they were located.

In response to the request, the Children’s Ombudsman of the Russian Federation provided the necessary support and ensured all appropriate and comfortable conditions for the children.

As a result, on February 8, 2026, the next group of six children — four from the city of Moscow and two from the Moscow region — were returned to Uzbekistan by officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The children have been temporarily placed at the Social and Legal Assistance Center for Minors under the Department of Crime Prevention of the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate.

It is worth noting that on February 2 this year, another group of six children left without parental care in different regions of Russia was also returned to Uzbekistan.
