On May 1, during his visit to the Khorezm region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the fields of the Sobirjon Yusuf family farm in the Khanka district. The farm is led by 73-year-old Oyimjon Otajonova, a veteran farmer with four decades of experience in tree cultivation.

According to the President's press service, Otajonova grows fruit and ornamental tree seedlings on three hectares and maintains a two-hectare garden. Her 12-hectare greenhouse, equipped with modern water-saving technologies and microclimate control systems, produces 40 varieties of flower seedlings. Over 50,000 seedlings are sold annually, generating an income of more than 1 billion sums. The farm’s products are also exported to neighboring regions as well as to Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

Oyimjon Otajonova is not only a successful farmer but also a dedicated mentor. She has trained over 200 students and helped 300 unemployed individuals gain skills in tree cultivation. As a result, 70 percent of households in the Gulistan neighborhood, home to over 7,000 people, have started home gardening.

This year, Otajonova donated 2,000 pine seedlings to every school and kindergarten in the district. A training center has also been established near the farm in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and a local bank. It educates farmers on how to generate year-round income from unproductive land, helping boost local economies and household incomes.

In recognition of her tireless work, her impact on the community, and her role as an inspiring example for younger generations, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded Oyimjon Otajonova the honorary title of "Honored Agricultural Worker of Uzbekistan". The presidential decree was officially signed on May 1.
