President’s open dialogue with entrepreneurs begins

Today, August 20, an open meeting between the President and entrepreneurs kicked off, the President's press secretary, Sherzod Asadov, reported.

"Today, we can proudly say that every job created in our country, every enterprise established, every service that eases the burden of our people, and every product exported is the result of your dedicated work, initiative, and perseverance," the Head of State said at the beginning of his speech.

It was stated that today’s event is not merely a conference, but a lively and sincere platform for dialogue that serves to strengthen mutual trust between the state and business.

"Every sector, every region, and every neighborhood can develop and prosper only when entrepreneurs take initiative, are heard, and are trusted. Therefore, today we will listen to you. Together, we will discuss the issues raised through your voice and agree on concrete solutions," the President emphasized.

The President also noted that from the very first days of reforms, entrepreneurs shared a common vision with him in building a New Uzbekistan with a strong economy, competitive industry, stable financial system, and sectors attractive to investors. Over the past eight years, many branches of the national economy have been newly established. During this period, $230 billion in investments have been attracted, of which more than $120 billion came from foreign sources.

"At first glance, this figure may seem easy to mention, yet in the past it was not only impossible to calculate but even difficult to imagine. However, we have achieved it," the President stated.

It was emphasized that while the global economy is going through a highly challenging period due to various disputes and conflicts, thanks to a pragmatic and proactive policy, Uzbekistan’s economy grew by 7.2 percent in the first half of the year.

It is worth noting that on August 18, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree awarding a group of entrepreneurs on the occasion of Entrepreneurs’ Day.
