Supreme Court denies rumors about Ikrom Muslimov's health

Reports circulating on social media claiming that the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court and Chairman of the Judicial Board for Criminal Cases, Ikrom Muslimov, suffered a stroke are false. This was confirmed by Aziz Obidov, press secretary of the Supreme Court.

“We urge social media users not to believe such fake news. We also call on information platforms to refrain from spreading unverified and baseless claims,” Obidov stated.

He further reminded the public that the dissemination of false information carries administrative and criminal liability under the law.

For context, Ikrom Muslimov was born in 1972 in the Tashkent region. A graduate of the Tashkent State Law Institute in 1996, he is a trained lawyer and has held various key positions in the judicial system throughout his career.

From 1998 to 2001, Muslimov served as a judge in the Bostanlyk district court. He went on to serve as a judge in the Tashkent Regional Court for criminal cases (2001–2005), a judge of the Supreme Court (2005–2013), and chairman of the Bukhara Regional Court for criminal cases (2013–2018). He returned to the Supreme Court in 2018, and since October 12, 2019, has served as Deputy Chairman. In September 2024, he was appointed First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court and continues to lead the Judicial Board for Criminal Cases.
