Uzbekistan will grant up to 50 million UZS in subsidies to businesses that employ individuals with Group I and II disabilities, according to the presidential decree issued on May 8.
The decree outlines several key objectives, including introducing specialized services for employees with disabilities, training young individuals with disabilities in modern professions, and ensuring stable employment for 80,000 people with disabilities by the end of 2025.
Starting June 1, 2025, the subsidy program will cover expenses for sign language interpreters, psychologists, and assistance services for employees with disabilities. Additionally, individuals providing assistance services will be allowed to register as self-employed workers.
To further support workforce inclusion, an electronic registry of employable individuals with disabilities will be maintained within the Unified National Social Protection information system.
Previously, officials proposed tax incentives for companies employing people with disabilities. The measures included lowering social tax rates and providing businesses with up to 500 million UZS in subsidies from the State Social Protection Fund. These steps aim to expand employment opportunities and strengthen financial support for disability-inclusive workplaces.
