Earlier, we reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President-elect of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was sworn in at a joint session of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the moment, the head of state is giving a speech. At the beginning of his speech, he thanked the voters.
“Once again, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all my compatriots who put their trust in me and elected me as the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” said Mirziyoyev.
He also expressed his high respect for the national flag, anthem and coat of arms of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as for the Presidential High Badge and flag handed over to me.
“I accept my election to the position of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan as another high recognition of our policy aimed at ensuring human rights and freedoms, the interests of the people,” said the President.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the fact that the presidential election was held on the basis of our updated Constitution gave it a truly populist spirit and meaning.
“We have every reason to say that our people freely expressed their will and voted for New Uzbekistan in this election.
“This very important and responsible political process in the life of our country once again confirmed how correct the path of national development that we have chosen and implemented together with our people,” Mirziyoyev said.
Continuing his speech, the people once again expressed their great confidence in him and thanked him for entrusting him with all the responsibility for the fate of the great country.
“At the same time, I feel in my heart what a glorious responsibility I am taking on my shoulders today, that I am personally responsible for the independence of our Motherland, the peace and well-being of my dear people of more than 36 million people.
“I bow with filial love and loyalty to our multinational, brave and wise people for such high trust, respect and attention,” said the President.
We remind you that Shavkat Mirziyoyev won the presidential election on July 9 of this year with 87.05 percent of votes.
