Mirziyoyev invites Trump to Uzbekistan in phone call

On September 5, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the United States Donald Trump, the press service of the President reported.

According to the report, the practical aspects of further strengthening the Uzbekistan–US strategic partnership and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed in detail. At the beginning of the conversation, the US President highly appreciated and supported the irreversible reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years to modernize the economy and improve the well-being of the population.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in turn, sincerely congratulated President Donald Trump on the achievements of the domestic and foreign policy pursued by the US administration. The contribution and efforts of the American side to the peaceful resolution of international and regional conflicts, as well as to ensuring global security and stability, were especially noted.

Special attention was also paid to expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. The issues of promoting business cooperation projects in priority sectors and significantly increasing the volume of trade were considered.

“It should be emphasized that in recent years, there has been a steady growth in mutual trade indicators. In 2024, trade turnover increased by 15 percent.

The portfolio of promising cooperation projects covers civil aviation, important mineral resources, the electrical industry, energy, agriculture, digital technologies, finance, innovations, education and many other areas,” the report says.

It was noted that a number of bilateral meetings and negotiations will be held this month with leading US companies and organizations in order to establish long-term and stable partnership relations. In addition, effective cooperation is being carried out in the field of security, primarily in combating terrorism, extremism and illegal migration.

“Cultural and humanitarian exchanges are expanding. Branches of leading US higher education institutions are successfully operating in Tashkent,” the report says.

During the telephone conversation, the heads of state also exchanged views on pressing international issues, including deepening regional cooperation between the Central Asian countries and the United States in the “C5+1” format.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited President Donald Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at a convenient time. It was agreed to continue high-level dialogue in order to promote projects and programs for practical cooperation. The conversation between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the United States Donald Trump was held in an open, constructive and friendly spirit.
