Shavkat Mirziyoyev holds a meeting with the Crown Prince

On July 19, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, within the framework of the first summit of the leaders of the Gulf Arab States and Central Asian countries.

The Crown Prince congratulated the head of Uzbekistan on his convincing victory in the presidential election and wished peace, prosperity, and success to the multi-ethnic people of Uzbekistan.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in turn, expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for the conditions created for the citizens of Uzbekistan to perform Hajj and Umrah.

During the talks, they discussed current issues pertaining to the further strengthening of Uzbekistan-Saudi relations. It was noted with satisfaction that the interaction and exchanges between the two nations have become more active.

The importance of the unconditional implementation of agreements and commitments adopted during the bilateral summit held in August of last year was emphasized.

It is noteworthy that since the beginning of this year, the volume of trade has increased by 20%, and the number of joint ventures has doubled. Furthermore, important projects in "green" energy, with the participation of the leading company "Acwa Power," have been initiated. Significant investment projects are also being developed in "green hydrogen," petrochemical, agricultural, pharmaceutical, medical, tourism, and other industries.

The meeting also involved discussions on international policy matters.

The practical visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded, and the head of state returned to Tashkent.
