Driver who hit three people with Malibu taken into custody

Earlier, it was reported that a Malibu-2 had hit three people crossing a pedestrian crossing at high speed in Andijan region, resulting in the deaths of two people. The driver of the Malibu who caused the incident has been taken into custody. The regional Road Safety Department reported this.

It was noted that the driver has now been detained in procedural order. A criminal case has been opened by the Investigation Department of the Andijan City Internal Affairs Coordination Department under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.

It should be recalled that the incident occurred on June 25 this year. On Amir Temur Avenue in the Yangi Bo‘ston mahalla of Andijan city, driver R.Z., born in 1997, was driving his Malibu-2 when he hit three pedestrians crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. As a result of the traffic accident, the pedestrians were taken to hospital with injuries. However, despite all medical treatment provided by doctors, two of them died.

Earlier, another tragic road accident had also occurred in Andijan. At that time, one schoolchild died after a group of students traveling to the Andijan Polka event, which was included in the Guinness World Records, were involved in a traffic accident.
