A total of 14,700 units of powerful drugs smuggled from the Kyrgyz Republic were seized in the Fergana region, according to a report by the State Security Service.

During an operation, two previously convicted citizens of Kokand, born in 1983 and 1993, were found to have conspired for personal gain. By prior arrangement, they received 8,000 units of the strong drug "Zardex" from a Kyrgyz citizen at a section of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border near Kuvasoy. The drugs were transported to a rented apartment in Kokand for further distribution. The suspects were detained with material evidence.

In a separate case, a lawyer from a local law firm in Kokand, along with two citizens born in 1974 and 1984, was caught while attempting to sell 4,400 units of the psychotropic drug "Regapen", disguised as vitamin pills, for 180 million soums. All three individuals were previously convicted.

In another incident in the Uchkuprik district, a vehicle driven by a citizen born in 1983, previously convicted under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code (illegal trafficking of narcotics), was stopped for inspection. Authorities discovered 100 units of "Tropicamide" and 559 units of "Regapen", valued at 110 million soums, in the vehicle. The substances were confiscated by legal procedures.

The operation continued with the arrest of a Fergana district resident, born in 1981, who sold 1,400 units of Regapen for $2,800 in Qoshtepa district. Another vehicle traveling in the same direction was also stopped and searched in Uchkuprik, revealing 250 units of "Tropicamide" valued at 75 million soums. The drugs belonged to a Kokand resident, born in 1981, who had prior convictions for serious drug crimes.

Criminal cases have been initiated against all the individuals involved, and detention measures have been applied. Investigative procedures are ongoing.

As a reminder, a similar case was recently reported in the Bukhara district, where the sale of low-quality and unregistered medicines was successfully prevented.
