Jordanian King to visit Uzbekistan

At the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein of Jordan will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan on August 25–26, the presidential press service reported.
The main events of the visit will take place in Samarkand. The summit agenda includes strengthening political, trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as expanding ties in the chemical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, textile, and mining sectors. Cultural and humanitarian exchanges are also expected to be discussed.
The two sides will exchange views on current international and regional issues. Following the talks, a package of bilateral agreements is expected to be signed.
Earlier, Uzbekistan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Jordan, Nodirjon Turgunov, presented his credentials to King Abdullah II.
