The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Jordan, Nodirjon Turgunov, has officially presented his credentials to King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein. The event was reported by the Dunyo news agency.

According to the report, the presentation took place during a formal ceremony held at the Basmane Palace in Amman. Following the ceremony, Ambassador Turgunov conveyed the greetings and well wishes of the President of Uzbekistan to the King of Jordan.

In response, King Abdullah II expressed his gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan and extended his best wishes to Ambassador Turgunov in his new role. He also emphasized the importance of further strengthening the historic ties between the two brotherly nations and pledged the Jordanian side’s full support for the ambassador’s work to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Jordan were established on February 15, 1993. Nodirjon Turgunov assumed his post as Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia in March 2024. In November 2024, he was accredited as the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. In April 2025, he also presented copies of his credentials to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, becoming Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to that country.

It is worth recalling that on May 28 of this year, Ambassador Turgunov presented copies of his credentials to Majid al-Qatarna, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation with Compatriots Abroad of Jordan.
