In the Bukhara and Fergana regions, individuals who promised university admission in exchange for money have been detained. The Department reported this for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the report, during an operational raid in the Bukhara region, citizens A.X. and O.R. promised citizen O.B. admission to an institute through F.R., a former teacher at the Bukhara Pedagogical Institute. They were detained after receiving 3,500 US dollars for their assistance. Later, in a continuation of the operation, citizen F.R. was also detained with material evidence after receiving 2,000 US dollars through his acquaintance R.Sh.
Additionally, during an operation in Fergana, citizen A.X. gained the trust of citizen Sh.N. and falsely claimed he could secure admission to Fergana State University through acquaintances in high-ranking positions. He was caught with material evidence while receiving 1,200 US dollars from Sh.N. for this promise.
Criminal cases have been initiated under Articles 25 and 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and investigative actions are underway.
It should be noted that earlier in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, a university teacher was detained for promising to pass final exams for students.
