In 2025, deliveries of Russian gas to Central Asian consumers—including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan—rose by 22%, Gazprom reported.

According to the company, exports to Central Asia and the South Caucasus increased, and Gazprom will continue to provide reliable gas supplies to nearby foreign markets. In particular, deliveries to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan increased by 22.2%, while deliveries to Georgia grew by 40.4%.

Uzbekistan became a net importer of natural gas after starting purchases from Gazprom in 2023. Supplies are delivered in reverse flow via the “Central Asia – Center” pipeline. In 2023, Gazprom delivered 1.28 billion cubic meters of gas to Uzbekistan, increasing to 5.64 billion cubic meters in 2024.

According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy, in 2025, gas deliveries to Uzbekistan may reach up to 6 billion cubic meters.

Currently, Kyrgyzstan consumes approximately 500 million cubic meters of gas per year. Long-term contracts with Gazprom have been signed until 2040 to supply the future 2nd Thermal Power Plant and the “Bishkekselmash” Thermal Power Plant.

Gazprom also supplies gas to consumers in Kazakhstan’s West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, and Aktobe regions, with deliveries increasing in line with the country’s growing demand. The gasification of northern Kazakhstan is currently under thorough study.
