In Uzbekistan, minors aged 14–18 can now independently open bank cards at commercial banks. This was established in the Central Bank’s order, registered on November 11 with the Ministry of Justice, amending the ’’Rules for issuance and circulation of bank cards in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.’’

The new regulations expand the types of bank cards available according to the user:

  • Business Bank Card – allows sole entrepreneurs or self-employed individuals to manage funds in their accounts.
  • Social Bank Card – designed for managing funds received from social and other payments.

The document also sets procedures for issuing pre-activated personal bank cards, which can be activated through mobile applications after verifying the user’s identity.

Now, minors aged 14–18 can independently open bank cards, while children under 14 can do so with the written consent of one parent or legal guardian.

Additionally, the regulation allows legal entities to make payments for drinking and wastewater services using corporate bank cards.
