A man with about 6 kg of drugs from Tajikistan is detained by State Security Service

In Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Fergana and Namangan regions, about 7 kilograms of various narcotics and a large quantity of potent drugs were seized during the anti-drug trafficking operation.

An inhabitant of the Uzun district born in 1991 was detained during a joint operation in the participation of Surkhandarya Regional Administration of the State Security Service, the Border Troops and the regional customs administration. The citizen illegally crossed the State border. The offender was arrested with 5593gm opium while smuggling it into the country from Tajikistan.

During the anti-drug trafficking operation, an accomplice of the drug smuggler born in 1986 in Uzun district and brothers born in 1985 and 1990 in Denau district were also detained.

The resident of Termez, born in 1969 and his two sons born in 1990 and 1992 were stopped in the “Umakay” road patrol service post of Chirakchi district on the road to Tashkent by the car «Cobalt» in the course of an operation conducted by the Kashkadarya Regional Administration of the State Security Service in cooperation with Department of Internal Affairs.

The search of the car revealed that 1kg of «hashish» had been hidden in the engine compartment, and it was registered in the proper order.

In another case, in the “Umakay” road patrol service post, a car «Cobalt» on the route Termez-Tashkent was stopped and searched. As a result, a passenger born in 1959 from the Denau district, who had previously been convicted of two drug-related crimes, was revealed to have 350 gm «hashish» and 65 gm «opium».
According to credible evidence, the drugs smuggled from Tajikistan by third parties were to be sold in Tashkent.

A citizen from Fergana district, born in 1966, with a previous conviction for drug-related offenses was detained while selling 107 grams of hashish to a former detainee residing in the Buvayda district-after smuggling 426 gm of drugs from Kyrgyzstan Republic.

The rest of the drugs hidden in the cabin of the car under his control «Cobalt» were also discovered and registered.

In the Namangan region, a car moving to Tashkent was stopped and inspected in the Namangan traffic patrol service post in the Pop district.

Consequently, 2,160 vials were found to contain a potent drug called tropicamide, and were disposed of procedurally. It was revealed that the drugs smuggled from the Kyrgyz Republic belonged to a person with a previous conviction, a resident of Namangan, born in 1985.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated and investigations are under way.
