Bakhodir Tashmatov appointed Deputy Secretary of the Security Council

Bahodir Hamidovich Tashmatov has been appointed Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The appointment was announced by Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov.
It is noted that, in connection with his new appointment, Tashmatov has been relieved of his previous post as Deputy Secretary of the Security Council for the Development of the Armed Forces.
For reference, Tashmatov was born in 1964. He graduated from the Tashkent Higher Military Command School, the Academy of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, the Higher Academic Courses of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and Fergana State University. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Military Sciences and is an Associate Professor.
Tashmatov served in various command roles within the Turkestan Military District. Between 1992 and 1999, he held senior positions in the Ministry of Defense, and from 1999 to 2008, he commanded military districts under the Ministry of Defense.
From 2008 to 2011, he served as Deputy and then First Deputy Minister of Defense. Between 2011 and 2013, he held the position of Secretary of the National Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan. From 2013 to 2017, before being appointed Commander of the National Guard, he again served as First Deputy Minister of Defense.
It should be noted that Javlon Abdujalolovich Vakhobov was earlier appointed Deputy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Foreign Policy and Director of the International Institute of Central Asia.
