Man jailed for sexually harassing girls on bus (video)

A video showing a man committing obscene acts toward girls on public transport has spread across social media, sparking wide discussions. The Tashkent Main Department of Internal Affairs has issued a statement regarding the incident.

It was revealed that the man in the video is a 1971-born citizen identified as F. He was later found and taken to the Chilanzar district department for Coordination of Internal Affairs.

’’At the Druzhba stop, a girl came and stood next to me. I couldn’t control myself, I could not restrain my desires, and my hand went to her back. I disgraced myself. I apologize. I regret it, and it will never happen again,’’ the man said.

Following the incident, the collected case materials were submitted to the Chilanzar district criminal court. The man was found guilty of committing an offense under Article 41-1 of the Administrative Responsibility Code (Sexual harassment) and was sentenced to five days of administrative detention.

It is worth noting that earlier, the head of the Tax Inspection in the city of Yangiyer, Syrdarya region, was dismissed after sexually harassing a female entrepreneur. While her husband was abroad, he had been disturbing her for several months by sending her inappropriate, suggestive text messages of a personal nature. According to reports, he also sent his inspectors to the woman’s shop several times. Later, he wrote that he was worried about her situation and suggested that, if she wished, they could have a chat over a cup of tea in the evening.
