Renowned historian Rakhmon Farmonov passes away

Renowned historian, professor, and Doctor of Historical Sciences Rakhmon Farmonovich Farmonov has passed away. The University of World Economy and Diplomacy, where he worked, reported the news of his passing.
Rakhmon Farmonov graduated from the Faculty of History at Tajik State University in 1967, specializing as a historian and social scientist. From November 1970 to December 1973, he pursued postgraduate studies at Lomonosov Moscow State University. In February 1974, he defended his candidate’s thesis on the modern history of France titled: "The Role of the Bonaparte Coup d'État (December 2, 1851) in Modern French Journalism."
In 1980, Farmonov became an associate professor at the Tashkent Higher Party School. From 1990 to 1992, he continued his academic journey as a doctoral student at the Russian Academy of Management in Moscow.
Over the course of his career, he held leadership and teaching positions at Tashkent State University and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. Under his supervision, 3 doctoral dissertations and 12 candidate dissertations were successfully defended.
Farmonov authored over 40 textbooks and teaching manuals, 7 monographs, and 5 poetry collections. Notably, in collaboration with Turkish scholar Ataman Kamil Yavuz, his book *"Amir Temur Kuragan and Emperor Napoleon"* was translated into Turkish and published in Turkey.
In January of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted an event celebrating the 80th anniversary of his birth.
