Members of a criminal group that imported and sold narcotics from Kyrgyzstan have been detained, the State Security Service reported.

It was revealed that six citizens living in the Kurgan-Tepa district of Andijan region, born between 1984 and 1991, conspired to buy 2 kg of hashish from a Kyrgyz drug dealer for $15,000. They delivered $1,950 as an initial payment to him.

In turn, a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic smuggled the narcotics across the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border and left them in a secret location in the city of Khanabad.

One member of the Kurgan-Tepa criminal group was detained by the State Security Service while driving in his car in the Khanabad-Kurgan-Tepa direction. Operational measures continued, and the remaining five members of the criminal group were detained in a procedural manner.

According to the expert report, the net weight of the seized hashish was 1 kg 954 g. A criminal case has been initiated against the individuals under Part 2 of Article 246 (Smuggling) and Part 5 of Articles 25 and 273 (Illegal preparation, acquisition, storage, and other actions for the purpose of trafficking narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances, as well as their illegal trafficking) of the Criminal Code. The preventive measure of arrest has been applied.

It is worth noting that earlier, an active member (a student) of a criminal group engaged in the online trade of synthetic drugs was detained in the Tashkent district of Tashkent region.
