Abdullah II participates in tree planting with Mirziyoyev

Today, August 26, at the conclusion of the Uzbekistan–Jordan summit, a joint tree planting ceremony was held, the President’s press service reported.
The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan planted an oak tree in the garden of the Congress Center in Samarkand.
"The ceremony symbolized the beginning of a new era in Uzbekistan–Jordan relations and reflected the leaders’ commitment to strengthening the friendship between the two nations", the report mentioned.
It is worth noting that King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein arrived in Samarkand on a state visit on August 25. At Samarkand International Airport, the King of Jordan was welcomed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Later, accompanied by President Mirziyoyev, King Abdullah II visited the majestic historical monuments of the ancient city of Samarkand. In the evening, the leaders also toured the “Eternal City” historical and ethnographic complex at the Samarkand International Tourist Center. On August 26, the main events of the visit began in Samarkand with the official welcoming ceremony of the Jordanian leader.
Subsequently, negotiations were held, and as a result, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan adopted a joint statement on strengthening partnership relations. Within the framework of the visit, 15 bilateral documents were signed.
In addition, during the state visit of the King of Jordan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan was awarded Jordan’s “An-Nahda” (“renaissance”) order.
