Residents of Khorezm and Tashkent regions caught in illegal job placement scheme

Individuals who promised to send citizens to work in Latvia and collected large sums of money were detained during operations in Urgench, Khorezm region, and Angren, Tashkent region. The State Security Service reported this.
According to the information, a 1991-born resident of the Altynkol district of Andijan region established a limited liability company that provided consultations to citizens seeking employment abroad and assisted in preparing visa documents. Through social networks, he gained the trust of four residents of Hazorasp district, Khorezm region, and demanded 10,000 US dollars from each in exchange for work visas to Latvia. During an operational operation in Urgench, carried out jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he was detained with material evidence while receiving the money.
A similar case was identified in Angren, Tashkent region. A 1997-born local resident demanded 8,250 dollars from three citizens from Andijan region, born in 1991 and 1992, promising to secure work visas to Latvia through acquaintances at the embassy. During a swift operation conducted with the participation of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office, he was detained while receiving 2,100 dollars in advance payment.
Criminal cases have been initiated against both suspects under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigations are underway.
It is worth noting that earlier, in Tashkent and Fergana cities as well as in Namangan and Andijan regions, several individuals were detained for promising to send citizens to work in the USA, Japan, and Korea.
