From September 2023 to September 2024, 572 Uzbek citizens were deported from the United States, according to a report released by the US government.
The report highlights that the total number of immigrants deported by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during this period reached approximately 271,000, marking the highest annual deportation rate since 2014. This surge surpasses the deportation figures recorded during President Biden’s term and exceeds any annual deportations during Donald Trump’s presidency from 2017 to 2021.
The record for the highest deportation rate remains with 2014 when 315,943 individuals were deported.
The report also detailed the number of citizens deported from various countries:
- Turkey – 694 people
- Uzbekistan – 572 people
- Georgia – 162 people
- Tajikistan – 77 people
- Kyrgyzstan – 69 people
- Ukraine – 53 people
- Israel – 30 people
- Iran – 27 people
- Kazakhstan – 23 people
- Azerbaijan – 13 people
- Turkmenistan – 5 people
This deportation increase comes as the US intensifies immigration enforcement. Earlier reports indicated that former President-elect Donald Trump planned to deport one million individuals as part of his initial immigration policy phase.
