An attempt to smuggle jewelry worth 1.1 billion soums was uncovered at the Navoi border customs post in the Tashkent region. This was reported by the Tashkent regional customs department.
According to the report, a citizen who entered the Navoi border customs post on foot acted suspiciously during customs control. As a result, customs officers conducted a personal search.
During the search, it was discovered that the individual had hidden 1 kg 13 grams of jewelry in his internal genitals. The total value of the seized gold jewelry, taken as material evidence, amounted to 1.1 billion soums.
A criminal case has been initiated by the customs authorities regarding this incident.
It is worth noting that earlier, a man was also detained at the same border post for attempting to smuggle gold bars hidden in his genitals.
