Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, spoke highly of Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov during a press conference ahead of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) clash with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on January 22. Guardiola welcomed the new additions to the squad and shared his optimism for their contributions.

"To the newcomers in our squad, I say welcome to the City family. I am pleased they’ve joined us. We have plans for these young players to remain with us for many years. Khusanov has played in France and possesses remarkable physical attributes. I hope he can learn English as quickly as possible. Another addition, Reiss, the Brazilian footballer, will be able to help us after we advance to the knockout stages of the Champions League. However, they are eligible to play in the Premier League immediately," Guardiola stated.

It should be noted that, according to UEFA regulations, new players joining Manchester City during the UCL group stage cannot assist their teammates in the tournament until the knockout phase. The club can register new players for the playoff rounds, allowing them to participate further in the competition.

For context, Manchester City faces PSG today, January 22, in the 7th round of the UCL group stage. After six rounds, the English club has accumulated eight points, placing 24th in the overall group stage standings.

The ski resort is situated at an altitude of 2,200 meters on the Keroğlu mountain range, making it one of Turkey's most prominent vacation destinations. On the day of the fire, the hotel was operating at 80-90% capacity due to a student holiday period.

This highlights Manchester City’s commitment to integrating talented young players while adapting to UEFA’s rules and ensuring their squad remains competitive in both domestic and international competitions.
