The Embassy of Uzbekistan in India gave an official response to the video appeal made by D. Makhmudova, a citizen kept in Delhi.
It is noted that on 28 August of the current year, citizen D. Makhmudova and 7 other citizens of Uzbekistan along with her, applied to the consular section of the embassy in India for help in returning to their homeland. The embassy provided these citizens with all appropriate consular and legal assistance.
"Especially, due to their lack of a place to live and their financial situation, they have been immediately provided shelter in Delhi in cooperation with the non-governmental organization "Empowering Humanity", and they have been given hot meals three times a day. In turn, taking into account the fact that the citizens who applied did not have identity documents, they were issued a certificate of return to the homeland," - the embassy said.
It is noted that, according to Indian law enforcement agencies, the aforementioned citizens have been found to have illegally entered the territory of India and violated the rules of staying in this country. At the same time, in the case of the author of the video appeal - D. Makhmudova and her companions, due to the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings by Indian law enforcement agencies, a temporary restriction was placed on their exit from the territory of this country. After these legal processes are completed, the above citizens will be promptly returned to Uzbekistan.
"This matter is being strictly monitored by the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in India and necessary consular and legal assistance is being provided to the registered citizens. Regular communication has been established with the competent authorities of India regarding this situation," - the official report said.
