Uzbek citizens warned about working in Korea

Uzbek citizens working in South Korea under E-7 and E-9 visas have been warned by the Migration Agency.

It was noted that some workers on these visas are switching to unofficial jobs, which can lead to serious consequences. If a worker loses their job, they must:

 Register as a job seeker within 1 month, and
 Find a new employer and sign an official contract within 3 months.

Failure to comply can result in heavy fines, loss of legal status, and deportation. Workers are strictly prohibited from leaving their workplace without agreement, as stipulated in contracts with the Migration Agency.

This year, 20 citizens who violated the tripartite contract were fined 660 million UZS. Deportees must return all benefits provided by the government and are barred from organized foreign work for one year.

South Korea’s SPAS system ensures that workers who have contracts with employers are officially selected. Any person demanding money to assist in selection is considered a fraudster.

Previously, Uzbek citizens traveling to Russia via Kazakhstan were also warned.
