Ikrom Matiev, the governor of Forish district in Jizzakh region, has been dismissed from his post and replaced by a new leader, according to the regional administration’s press service.
On November 1, an extraordinary session of the People’s Deputies District Council was held in Forish. Acting governor of Jizzakh region Ulugbek Mustafayev and Presidential Adviser Shukhrat Ganiev attended the meeting.
During the session, an organizational issue was discussed. The regional governor proposed the candidacy of Sohib Yakhshibekovich Islomon for the position of Forish district governor. Deputies unanimously approved the proposal, officially appointing Islomon as the new district governor.
Prior to his appointment, Sohib Islomon served as the director of the Limited Liability Company “Directorate of the Special Industrial Zone of the High Technologies Agrotechnopark in Agriculture.”
The administration did not specify the reason for Ikrom Matiev’s dismissal. He had been serving as governor since January 2021.
Earlier, new governors were appointed to Karmana district in Navoi region and to the city of Khanabad in Andijan region. Similarly, the mayor of Ohangaron was dismissed and replaced. Additionally, Sherbek Buronov was relieved of his duties as governor of Narpay district, and a new governor took office in his place.
