Mirziyoyev arrives in Kuwait, welcomed by the Emir at airport

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Kuwait today, February 17, on an official visit at the invitation of the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Sabah. This was reported by the press service of the President.
At Al-Kuwait International Airport, Mirziyoyev was welcomed by Emir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Sabah, Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and other officials.

In honor of the Uzbek leader's visit, an honor guard was formed, state flags were raised, and the national anthems of both countries were played.

President Mirziyoyev walked past the honor guard before the heads of state greeted members of the official delegations and representatives of the diplomatic corps.

A brief conversation between the leaders took place at the Emir Terminal of the airport.
Later today, President Mirziyoyev and the Emir of Kuwait are scheduled to hold high-level talks. The summit will focus on strengthening friendly and multifaceted partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Kuwait, as well as expanding cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment-financial, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

A number of intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements are expected to be signed following the discussions.
