“Cotton” is instead of “Johnon”.  Street names have changed in Tashkent

A total of 400 streets of which 264 are unnamed, 23 with repeated names, and 15 that are contrary to the requirements of legal documents, located in the Almazor, Uchtepa and Yangihayot districts of Tashkent city, were given new names.  The names of 91 streets have been changed.  This was stated in the decision of the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies “On naming and renaming some geographical objects in the city of Tashkent”.

In particular, 184 unnamed streets in the Almazor district, 11 in the Uchtepa district and 69 unnamed streets in the Yangihayot district were renamed.  Most of them are narrow and closed streets.

Also, 19 streets in the Almazor district, 3 streets in the Uchtepa district and 1 street in the Yangihayot district were changed due to duplication.

Fifteen streets in the Almazor district, whose names contradict the requirements of legal documents, were renamed.  In particular, “Lizniy” and “Sernovodsk” streets are named after “Chuvalachi”, “Talant” street is “Iste’dod”, “Sag’bon” street is “Ramazan”, “Jonon” street name has been changed to “Cotton”

In addition, 39 streets in the Almazor district, 50 streets in the Uchtepa district and 2 streets in the Yangihayot district, whose names are changing as a result of a revision to the geographical location of the settlement components, have been renamed.
