A criminal case was initiated against illegal fishing in Jizzakh

A criminal case was initiated against about 350 people who caught fish without any documents in the territory of the "Arnasoy" reservoir in Jizzakh region.  This was reported by the Press Service of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office.

It is noted that this situation was revealed during a quick event held in cooperation with the Aydar-Arnasoy lake system department of the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection.  It was known that citizens L.T. and B.M. used prohibited hunting gear without any documents in the area of "Arnasoy" reservoir, and caught a total of 343 fish, causing 201.1 million soms of damage to the animal world.

"In connection with this situation, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 202 of the Criminal Code (violation of the order of use of animal or plant life), and investigative efforts are being conducted," the department said.
