Earthquake strikes Jizzakh

On May 31, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 struck the Jizzakh region. This information was provided by the Republican Center for Seismological Prognostic Monitoring of the MES.

The earthquake occurred at 3:25 AM local time, with its epicenter in the Bakhmal district of the Jizzakh region. The coordinates of the epicenter are 39.77 degrees north latitude and 67.97 degrees east longitude. The quake had a magnitude of 3.2 and occurred at a depth of 15 km, approximately 197 km southwest of Tashkent.

It is important to note that the information service of the Academy of Sciences had previously warned about the potential for earthquakes with magnitudes of 6.5 or higher in the Tashkent area.
