Assistant judge detained in Jizzakh for accepting bribe

An assistant judge was detained in Jizzakh while accepting a bribe of $300, the State Security Service reported.

According to the report, the assistant judge of the Dustlik Interdistrict Court for Civil Affairs in the Jizzakh region, abusing his official position, gained the trust of a woman living in the Mirzachul district. He demanded $300 in exchange for expediting her divorce proceedings and ensuring she received part of the marital property.

During an operation, he was detained with material evidence in his office while receiving the bribe.

A criminal case has been initiated against the assistant judge under Article 168, Part 3, Clause "c," and Article 211, Part 1 of the Criminal Code. A preventive measure in the form of arrest has been applied, and investigative measures are ongoing.

It is worth noting that earlier, an assistant judge of the Termez District Court in the Surkhandarya region was caught while accepting an $800 bribe.
