In Jizzakh, a woman who cheated on her acquaintance through a fake link was caught

In Jizzakh, a woman was apprehended for deceiving an acquaintance with a fraudulent link sent via SMS. The Cyber Security Center reported the incident.

A 52-year-old resident of Gallaorol district, Jizzakh region, identified as R.N., reported the unauthorized withdrawal of 1,550,000 soums from her bank account.

Following swift investigative efforts, the perpetrator of this crime, a 33-year-old woman named Yu.A., was identified.

Yu.A., implicated as the suspect, reportedly gained access to the victim's personal information by sending an SMS containing a fake link without the victim's knowledge. Subsequently, she accessed the victim's mobile banking application as a secondary user and transferred the funds to her own card.

"In response to this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 169, Part 3, Clause "b" of the Criminal Code (theft through unauthorized access to an information system), with ongoing investigations to determine Yu.A.'s potential involvement in other undisclosed similar crimes," stated the report.
