Man arrested in Jizzakh for fraudulent U.S. migration scheme

2778Authorities in Jizzakh region have arrested a suspect who deceived citizens by falsely promising to send them to the United States via Mexico, according to the regional Department of Internal Affairs.
During a special operation, law enforcement officers detained N.B.Q., a resident of Sharof Rashidov district, as he attempted to fraudulently collect 200 million UZS (including 11,200 USD and 50 million UZS) from A.A.D., a resident of Zarbdor district, under the pretense of facilitating employment opportunities in the U.S.
Officials confirm that an investigation is underway, with preliminary inquiries being conducted to assess the full scope of the fraud scheme.
Previously, law enforcement agencies had arrested suspects in four regions for running similar scams, charging large sums of money for travel to the U.S. via the "Turkey-Europe-Mexico" route.
